Ffian is a fashion designer from Caerphilly who is in the middle of studying for her masters degree and the Royal College of Art, London. Her work focuses on cultural and socio-political matters that are relevant to her local community. In the past, her projects have highlighted things such as men’s mental health and the role of charity shops within the community. The main purpose of her work is to spark discussion and draw attention to matters by giving them adequate representation. In each of her projects, she tries to work with the people that the work is about. Recently, Ffian has worked with the creative director Charlotte James and the photographer Clementine Schneidermann to re-imagine the traditional Welsh costume with the Jukebox Collective in Cardiff.
