Hello! I’m Elen – I’m a curator and producer for international projects in the arts. I’m lucky enough to work on everything from music and contemporary art to theatre and festivals. Mae background is in the visual arts, and I’m working on developing my practice around activism, community change, Fait Trade (including the arts!) and the feeling that comes over you when you find something for the first time – wether that’s a piece of poetry, music, walking around a little village the other side of the world, a maze of an exhibition or just to connect with another person.
It’s the excitement that comes with curiosity that I’m trying to recreate in my work.

Working with artists and musicions has taken me to a lot of different places – from SXSW in Austin, Indie Week Toronto, Folk Alliance International in Kansas City and POP Montréal, to attending Biennales Shanghai, Venice and Berlin. Connecting internationally is important to many artists, but that’s not always easy without support and experience, so I work with them to make sure that they can present or perform their work in the best way possible, and to connect them to opportunities and local or international audiences that are attending an event. Knowing how to develop and nurture connections is very useful to be able to work internationally – but the most important thing I think is needed is the willingness to listen, to learn and to be open to different ideas, cultures and people. There is a lot of preparation and follow up to be done when attending these events – and a little bit of business chat to be done – but it’s a privilege to be able to work with interesting people and to have this much fun and creativity in my work.
