Llio Maddocks

Llio is a writer and poet who writes poetry on the experience of being a woman, and then publishes them on Instagram @llioelain. She aims to show that anyone can write poetry – and more than anything, she wants more women to write – please! (It’s easy – promise!) At the moment, she still has her head in the clouds after publishing her first novel, Twll Bach yn y Niwl.

Here is a taste of one of Llio’s poetry that reacts to stuff that boys have said to her.

“Oni’m yn gwbod bo chdi’n glyfar”
Stwff ma hogia ’di ddeud wrtha fi, vol.14

Am mod i’n gwisgo ffrogiau?
Am mod i’n gwisgo sodlau?
Am mod i’n meiddio chwerthin weithiau?

Am mod i’n gwisgo colur?
Am mod i’n achosi dolur
wrth fynegi fy hun yn llawer mwy eglur
na chdi?

Neu os ti’n bod yn onast,
dio am fy mod i’n ddynas?
