In her work, Carlota uses the game The Sims 4 to create an alternative reality. Freed from a body and its boundaries, the artist is allowed to explore the possibilities of living another life.
Carlota becomes Super Sexy Lota, a wealthy and depressed painter from Bridgeton Bay.
Through paintings and short films that recount Super Sexy Lota’s life, Carlota tells us stories that combining personal narratives, pop-culture references, and the glistening aesthetics of commercial advertisement, reveal the humour, absurdity, and psychological complexity of the real world and her own life.
